2009 KoM 358 MOD RULE'S “358 Mods” HOT MODS BY TYLER COUNTY SPEEDWAY RULES WILL BE PERMITTED TO RUN "AS IS" WITH NO CHANGES TO THE CAR!
Safety Helmets are required and must meet Snell 2000 or newer standards. Helmet must accompany vehicle at time of inspection and must not be cracked. 1. Fire race suits of a flame-retardant nature must be worn by all competitors. Two piece are allowed. Fire resistant gloves and shoes are recommended. 2. Fire extinguishers are required and must be charged and securely mounted. This must be done at time of inspection or your car will not race! 3. Aluminum racing seats are required. 4. Competition type 5 point seatbelts are required. Belts must be at least three inches wide and must not be older than 3 years. Loose objects and or ballast is not permitted in driver’s compartment or outside the body area. All other AMRA safety rules apply.
Crate/Spec Engines 1. PBM IRON OUTLAW I-Legal at 2400 lbs minimum. PBM IRON OUTLAW MAGNUM-Legal at 2400 lbs minimum. GMPP 602 CRATE Engine -Legal at 2400 Lbs minimum. Go to www.KOMWRS.com-click for info on GMPP Crate/PBM spec engines.
Limited Engines 1. Limited Engines-car must weigh 2500 lbs minimum. Must use STOCK GM 350 Stock steel block Only. Ford- Must use 351W or smaller Stock steel block ONLY. Dodge-Must use 360 or smaller Stock steel block ONLY. 2. Must use Steel Block and 23 degree (18 degree for Dodge,20 degrees for Ford) steel heads required--NO ALUMINUM HEADS OR ALUMINUM BLOCKS!!! 3. NO Dome Pistons! Flat top or factory dish ONLY! 4. No Roller Rockers –stamped steel with roller tip ok 5. No Roller Cams. 6. Aluminum Intakes Ok 7. No external or rear mount fuel or oil pumps 8. Max Compression Ratio 10.5:1 for ALL engines. Checked with Whistler. 9. No Dart or World Product or other aftermarket blocks 10. Max cubic in for GM and Ford 358 cu in. Checked with P&G Pump 11. Max cubic in for Dodge 368 cu. In. Checked with P&G Pump 12.. ANY ENGINE MAY BE CLAIMED BY ANY KoM MEMBER FINISHING IN THE TOP 5 AND BEHIND THE CAR BEING CLAIMED FOR $3500. (LONG BLOCK ONLY…MINUS EXTERNAL BOLT ON PARTS..IE CARB, DISTRIBUTOR, STARTER, PULLEYS, PUMPS,..ETC….) 12. MUST CLAIM AND PAY IN CASH OR CERTIFIED CHECK WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF RACE FINISH. (FEATURE ONLY).
Aspiration 1. A single two (2) or four (4) barrel carburetor is allowed. A spacer is allowed but may only be 1 and ¼” from top to bottom. Double pumper is allowed. 2. Engine must be normally aspirated: no type of fuel injection. 3. Racing fuel cells are required and must be mounted by at least two (2) steel straps, two (2) inches wide by 1/8” inch think around cell. Fuel cells must be enclosed in a steel container, mounted behind rear axle only and must be protected by tubing. 32 gallon maximum capacity. 4. Gasoline or Alcohol. 5. NO NITROUS OR POWER ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND! 6. 750 CFM maximum carb NO EXCEPTIONS! 7. NO AEROSOL TYPE CARBURETORS!!! (Note: GMPP Crates and PBM engines perform extremely well with the Holley 650 HP 80541-1 carb.)
Transmission 1. Bert or Brinns ok 2. Transmissions must have a working front and rear gear 3. Cars must be able to move forward, stop in a neutral position, and then backup without assistance. 4. Powerglides ok 5. Standard or Automatic OEM transmissions Allowed. 6. If using a clutch you must use a steel “scatter proof” bellhousing
Drive Shafts 1. Drive shafts must be steel and must be painted white! 2. Drive shaft loop required and must be no be more than six (6) inches back from the front of the drive shaft. It must be steel.
Battery and Kill Switch 1. Batteries must be securely mounted and may not be inside of the driver’s compartment. 2. Stock type battery ignition only, NO magnetos. Kill switch is required. Switch must be located within easy reach of the driver and track staff.
Wheels and Tires 1. Hoosier Tires Only AMRA Medium or Hard Allowed 2. Hoosier A40 or H40 Allowed as well. 3. 8 Inch Steel Wheels Only 4. Bead locks are optional but may only be ran on the right side of the car. 5. Once inch lug nuts are required and larger studs may be installed. 6. NO WIDE 5 Wheels. 7. MUST RUN A HARD COMPOUND ON THE RIGHT REAR. 8. No Siping, grooving, or softening. Buffing to remove glaze and build up ok. 9. Factory tread design may NOT be altered.
Rear Ends 1. Any OEM passenger car type, or truck types rear end may be used. Floater rear ends are permitted. 2. No aluminum allowed except lowering blocks, axle caps, and drive plates. 3. No quick-change devices allowed. 4. Birdcages Must Be Steel 5. Locking and Posi-track rear ends allowed. 6. No traction control devices of any kind allowed.
Steering 1. OEM steering box only and must remain within original bolt pattern for type of frame used. 2. No rack and pinion steering. 3. No center steering. In cockpit steering maybe modified to drivers taste but must remain on left side of car. 4. Front mount (block or head) OEM styled V-Belt driven power steering pumps ONLY.
Suspension 1. 4 Bar, Z-Link, Swing Arm, 3 Bar, 2 Bar, Leaf Spring and Mono Leaf Suspension Ok 2. Birdcages Must Be Steel (No Bearing Birdcages) 3. Clamp Brackets Ok 4. Tubular A Arms Ok (Upper Only) 5. No Tubular Lower Control Arms On Front 6. Racing Shocks and Springs Ok 7. Shocks are welded bearing, non-take a part shocks ONLY! 8. No double adjustable shocks 9. No externally valved or canister reservoir shocks 10. Shocks may be claimed by any KoM member finishing in the top 5 and behind the car being protested for $75 each. 11. Must pay in CASH or Certified check within 10 minutes of the finish of the race (feature only)
Body & Frame 1. AMRA body & Frame rules except NO SPOILKERS for limited engines. (see rules at www.AMRAMODIFIED.com) 2. GMPP 602, PBM Iron Outlaw I, and PBM Iron Outlaw Magnum may have 8 inch maximum spoiler.
Car Claim 1. ANY complete car may be claimed by ANY KoM member finishing in the top 5 and behind the car being claimed for $10,000. Must pay in cash or certified check within 10 minutes of the finish of the race. (feature Only) | |
