ABOUT US
The Suddenlink AMRA King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series
The AMRA King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series (KoM WRS) is governed by the AMRA Board of Directors and track promoters from member tracks throughout the Appalachian region and surrounding areas. As a united alliance we are taking on the tough issues effecting our local racing community today. By setting standardized rules throughout our region and putting the emphasis on being cost effective and leveling the playing field we will induce growth at our local tracks. Making racing more affordable and more competitive for more people will also make the racing experience more enjoyable for our fans. Each track who becomes a member of the AMRA King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series has the opportunity to select one member from their staff to be on the Board of Directors for the series. This keeps the tracks involved in the decision making and gives our drivers and fans a local representative to address series related concerns. This program has an added benefit of allowing tracks a forum for assisting one another with creative scheduling and combined event planning thereby giving our fans more variety while reducing the number of events which bump another track's schedule in the same area on a given weekend. We are an extension of our weekly tracks not a competition to them.
The series is geared towards the weekend budget
"Hobby Racer" and their fans and sponsors. These are the people that
support weekly tracks on a consistent basis. By improving the
environment for this group of people we also improve the environment
for our advanced level classes and touring series. This helps to
create a natural
progression system for our drivers. Each class feeds the next class
and eventually the various touring series as well. By creating
affordable entry to intermediate level classes we also establish a
venue that is attractive to newcomers. All of these attributes combine
to keep the weekly shows fresh and exciting for our fans.
For years our tracks have competed for the same
shrinking talent pool and the same increasingly dissatisfied fan
base because of it. As a team attacking these issues in force, we can
alleviate that pressure and induce real growth which results in more
people coming through the gates at all our tracks.
Another goal of the series is to help our
tracks create an atmosphere conducive to family entertainment. Assist
with programs for the kids to be involved in, Faster Pastor races, fan
appreciation events, more access to the drivers, charitable
organizations, community service activities, a clown ministry
for our youth, patronizing local businesses, being involved in local
fund raisers, and the like. We want our communities to know we support
them in their endeavors as well.
All tracks in the Appalachian region and
surrounding areas are invited to the join and we encourage them to do
so.
We welcome the opportunity to better serve our racing
community. If you would like to contact any of the board members our
