2008 KoM Points

The Suddenlink AMRA King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series
Late Model National Championship
presented by
Hoosier Racing Tire, Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley, and Dave Poske's Performance Parts.

Members gets scored on their best 15 races of the season regardless of which sanctioned Suddenlink AMRA KoM WRS track they run at.

Once a member reaches 15 scored races, they may begin to replace lower scores with better ones.

Example:

Race 16-You win......on race 3 you were last. You may replace race 3's score with week 16's score but ONLY 15 races total will be scored for the season.

This allows racer who works shift work or for what ever reason can't be at every race every week an opportunity to compete in a decent points championship race.
The weekly track points season will begin April 1 , 2008 and end September 27, 2008. No points for weekly tracks awarded before or after those dates.
D. Double Points will be awarded for the Championship Race in September details TBA.

E.) The 2008 Awards Banquet Date, Time, and Location to be announced.

Driver “MUST” attend banquet to receive awards. No proxies!!!

4.) Run Feature.

MEMBERS PROVISIONAL STARTS

NO PROVSIONALS FOR NON-MEMBERS!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

1.)A maximum of two (2) Provisional Starters will be allowed in any Main Feature. Provisional Starters will be the two (2) Highest Points Scorers from the Points Standings who have not qualified for the A-Main.

2.) For Special Events, Regional points will be used.

3.) For weekly events KoM Track points will be used.

4.) Should a provisional be required for the first event of the season, the highest in last years regional points will be the 1st eligible driver.

5.) Provisional starters will start on the tail of the feature.

6.) In order to use a Provisional, a Driver must be, a paid AMRA KoM WRS member, present for the entire Event, entered at the correct time and have started his last assigned Heat race or consy race.

7. Past Champions Provisional may be exercised for 1 of the 2 provisional spots.

1st option given to the regional past champions highest in points.

2nd option given to the KoM track champion highest in the points.

7.) Drivers will begin the Season with two (2) Provisionals for the Season.

8.) How many cars start the feature will be at the discretion of the promoter.

Points will be awarded as follows:

12 cars or more

1=50

2=48

3=46

4=44

5=42

6=40

7=38

8=36

9=34

10=32

11 thru last=30

Show up=25

11 Cars or less

1=40

2=39

3=38

4=37

5=36

6=35

7=34

8=33

9=32

10=31

11=30

Show up=25

Heats: (regardless of car count)

1=5

2=4

3=3

4=2

5 thru last=1

Consys= 1 point to All cars.

Tech Points:

Every car must pass Pre-Race tech including drivers helmet and safety equipment.

2 Points= if car passes pre-race tech on 1st attempt.

1 Point =if car passes pre-race tech on 2nd attempt.

Must pass Pre-Race tech to be allowed to compete.

A.) Driver Must be a King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series licensed member to Receive Points.

B.) The 2008 Awards Banquet Date, Time and location to be announced.

Must attend banquet to receive awards. Any person picking awards on drivers behalf must be pre-approved and verified by the series before the banquet date. Awards WILL NOT be released if person has not been pre-approved and identity verified. (including 2 picture forms of ID the day of the banquet.)

PURSE MONIES

Under no circumstances will King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series officials collect any Prize Monies on behalf of Drivers or Teams. If you have won money it is your responsibility to collect or make arrangements with the Promoter - it is not the responsibility of the series officials, and Prize Money will not be collected, credited or otherwise accounted for by any Series Official before, during, or after an event.
